Dedicated agents for production operations

    Updated 7 October 2026

For each connected tool, purpose-built agents monitor four aspects of how your software uses it: errors, performance, security, and cost. An integration gives Operate access to a tool; a dedicated agent does a defined operational job with that access.

    MongoDB agents

    • Errors: Failed operations, write errors, and connection failures coming from your application.
    • Performance: Slow queries, missing or unused indexes, and collection scans as data grows.
    • Security: Users, roles, and network exposure that grant more access than your software needs.
    • Cost: Storage growth, oversized clusters, and indexes that cost more than they return.

    AWS agents

    • Errors: Failing functions, throttled calls, and services returning errors to your software.
    • Performance: Latency and saturation on the compute, queues, and storage your software depends on.
    • Security: IAM policies, public resources, and keys that widen your exposure.
    • Cost: Idle and oversized resources, and spend that grows faster than usage.

    GitHub agents

    • Errors: Failing workflows and checks on the branches that ship to production.
    • Performance: Slow or flaky pipelines that delay changes reaching production.
    • Security: Exposed secrets, permissive tokens, and vulnerable dependencies.
    • Cost: Actions minutes and runners that cost more than the work they do.

    What happens with a finding

A finding that needs attention can be investigated alongside context from your other connected systems. The result is a recommendation, and a proposed patch where a code change is the fix. An engineer reviews it. See the incident investigation workflow.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do agents change anything in my systems?

Adapters read logs, databases, and repositories. Operate cannot commit, open pull requests, merge, or deploy.

Is there a marketplace for agents?

Third-party developers are building agents with Operate in early access. There is no public marketplace yet.
